Meeting/Event Information

Meetings are an important part of OMNL membership. Members and non-members gather monthly for networking, education and have the opportunity to influence nursing practice in our state.

Regular Meetings

OMNL hosts monthly business and education meetings in November, December, January, February, April, May and June. Payments for meeting attendance can be made when registering online. Members are encouraged to introduce OMNL to a friend, peer, co-worker by inviting them to be a guest at a monthly meeting for only $20.00.

Annual Meetings

OMNL hosts an Annual Nursing Summit and co-hosts the Annual Nurses Tea with ANA-ME in March.

OMNL's Annual Meeting is a whole day event that normally takes place in Maine during September or October.

"Empowering Conversations to Mitigate Incivility in Nursing" - Dr. Shannon Gauvin, DHA, RN, AHN-BC

With 29 years of experience in the nursing profession, Dr. Gauvin currently serves as the Director of Nursing for the University of Maine at Augusta. Her extensive academic background includes an ADN from CMMC School of Nursing, a BS in nursing from USM, and a master’s in nursing with a dual concentration in education and management from the University of Phoenix. In 2016, she completed a research doctorate in Health Administration, focusing her dissertation on the effect of simulation on critical thinking in associate degree nursing students. A certified advanced holistic nurse since 2021, she has led her institution to earn the Excellence in Holistic Nursing Education Award. Dr. Gauvin’s leadership extends to the Maine State Board of Nursing and the boards of MaineGeneral Community Care and the American Holistic Nurse Credentialing Corporation. Her contributions have been recognized with the Agnes E. Flaherty Nurse Leadership Award, the UMA Meritorious Award, and her recent selection as one of Maine’s inaugural extraordinary nurses in 2025.
